RELEASE NOTES · CURRENT VERSION 4.5.1

What changed, and what it changed.

Every release below states what changed in the generated model, in the quantities, or in the interface. A change that moves a number is named as one — quantities you have already issued deserve to be traceable to a release.

4.5.1

Settings, help and icons · 18 September 2026

  • The Settings button opens the settings window again. In recent releases a build-protection step renamed the command, and Revit answered with “Wrong Full Class Name”. The tabs of the settings window, which showed placeholder captions, are named again.
  • If you chose a measurement rule — for example DIN 18350 — or modelled reveals with an earlier release, your choice and your existing reveal elements are recognised after the update. Earlier builds could store them under internal names; 4.5.1 reads both.
  • Pressing F1 on the tooltip of a SivaTools button opens the getting-started guide. Ribbon icons are drawn at the standard size in Revit 2025–2027 and switch to light variants in the dark theme.
  • Plaster generation, the takeoff and the measurement rules are unchanged from 4.5.0.

4.5.0

Revit 2027 · 17 September 2026

  • SivaTools now has a separate build for Autodesk Revit 2027, which runs on .NET 10. The download contains four builds — 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 — and the installer adds SivaTools to the Revit versions it finds on the computer.
  • The Revit 2027 build is compiled against the Revit 2027 API but has not yet been run inside Revit 2027 by us. If something misbehaves there, write to support with the log; it is treated as a release-blocking defect.
  • The in-product trial of the Autodesk App Store edition is now 15 days instead of three. The download on this site is unchanged in that respect: the trial is part of the subscription and begins at checkout.
  • Plaster generation, the takeoff and the measurement rules are unchanged from 4.4.0.

4.4.0

The measurement rule is now a setting · 4 September 2026

  • Until this release SivaTools measured under one rule only: the Turkish unit-price schedule, which deducts every opening. That was never stated anywhere, so a takeoff produced under RICS NRM2 or DIN 18350 was systematically low. The rule is now chosen in Settings › Quantities, and it is printed in the report together with the clause it comes from.
  • Four options: Türkiye (every opening deducted), RICS NRM2 (openings up to 1.00 m² inside the measured area kept, boundary openings always deducted), DIN 18350 (openings up to 2.50 m² kept, reveals still measured), and Custom, where you enter the threshold, a partial-deduction band and the boundary rule yourself.
  • The takeoff now reports two figures instead of one: the physical plaster area, the billable area under the selected rule, and the difference between them. On the demo project the DIN figure is 122.02 m² — 10.9% — larger than the Turkish figure, from the same model and the same run.
  • Quantities you have already issued are unaffected. With the Turkish rule selected — the default — the CSV is byte for byte what 4.3.0 produced: no extra column and no extra section. Nothing in an existing project changes until you change the rule.
  • Two DIN 18350 sub-rules are not applied: the 30 cm column and beam interruptions, and the smallest-enclosing-rectangle provision for free-form surfaces. The report states this on every run rather than leaving it unsaid.

4.3.0

A trial that asks for nothing · 3 September 2026

  • The Autodesk App Store edition now carries a three-day trial inside the product: no card, no sign-up, every command available. It starts when you press the button in the License window, once per computer.
  • The download on this site is unchanged in that respect. Here the trial is part of the subscription and begins at checkout, so the installer you download has no trial button — the same product, a different way in.
  • The help file that ships with the add-in had a broken character in its title in every previous release. The cause was an encoding assumption in the build, not in the text; it is now stated explicitly and checked on every build.

4.2.0 – 4.2.2

Reveals you can see, and plaster on exposed columns · 2 September 2026

  • Door and window reveals can be modelled as real geometry — jambs, head, and the window sill. The option is off by default, and the reveal area in the takeoff is the same figure whether or not you model it.
  • Where the frame closes inside the opening is yours to set. When that plane cannot be read from the joinery, no reveal is generated for that opening and the reason is reported. A guessed plane does not produce a slightly wrong size, it produces the wrong number of strips against the wrong surfaces.
  • Exterior plaster now covers exposed façade column faces. This adds area to exterior quantities compared with 4.1.19; structural steel columns are still excluded.
  • Plaster strips meet more cleanly. Narrow exposed faces are detected, and a strip end is fitted to the surface it actually stops against, which closes small gaps and overlaps at junctions.
  • Generated elements carry one consistent identity through generation, re-runs, reports and all three languages, so running a scope again replaces exactly what the previous run produced.

4.1.20

The thickness you set is the thickness you get · 1 September 2026

  • A settings window collects plaster thicknesses, type names, item codes, reveal handling and output language in one place.
  • A thickness changed in settings now reaches the plaster itself. Until this release the new value was accepted and stored, and then ignored: the plaster kept its original thickness while the settings file said otherwise. Re-run generation to apply a corrected thickness to plaster already in a model, and check any quantity issued from a model where the thickness had been changed.

4.1.19

Annual plan · 28 August 2026

An annual plan is now offered alongside the monthly plan. Both unlock the same complete product, one named user and up to two activated devices. Generation and quantity behaviour is unchanged in this release.

4.1.18

Materials, and why an element was left out · 27 August 2026

  • Structural steel columns are no longer given plaster. Plaster is not applied to bare structural steel, so including those faces overstated the quantity.
  • Curtain walls were already excluded, but the omission was silent. The run report now states the reason.
  • Every element left out of a run is named in the report together with the reason it was left out, so an exclusion can be reviewed instead of discovered later.

4.1.12 – 4.1.17

One language, end to end · 27 August 2026

  • The license window, the result windows, the copy-to-clipboard action and the schedule headings all follow the language you are working in.
  • Item descriptions and room labels in reports follow that language as well, rather than falling back to a fixed one.
  • Values written into your Revit file keep a single, consistent document language. Two people opening the same model with different Revit interface languages no longer produce two different deliverables.

4.1.7 – 4.1.14

Geometry at the difficult joints · 26–27 August 2026

  • Beam plaster no longer runs past the end of the beam. The overlap allowance is applied only where two plaster strips genuinely meet.
  • A column embedded in a wall no longer produces a face that Revit refuses to cut, and the join warnings that came with it are gone.
  • A column standing in a building corner produces one continuous plastered face instead of a stepped one.
  • Curved walls join and measure correctly.
  • Plaster orphaned by a wall that was deleted after generation is reported on its own line rather than quietly added to a live total.

4.1.0

The embedded surface rule · 21 August 2026

A face buried inside adjacent construction is excluded from the generated geometry and from the quantity together. A column sitting inside a wall is counted once, on the side that is actually plastered — the rule that most of the releases above refine.
